2015

August 2015

Dear Friends & Family, I hope this finds you doing well. It has thankfully been a mild summer in Southern California; I wish I could have said the same for the nation of Israel last month. As we filmed 3 Youthbyte programs in the Holy Land, the daily temps were pushing past 100 degrees. Regardless of the heat and humidity, we worked 16-hour days, traveling from the very bottom of the country to the very top in 12 days. It was an incredibly fruitful trip. I again had the opportunity to bring my oldest son Max with me, and his presence on the trip was invaluable. As we were looking at shooting in Jerusalem, he reminded me of his schoolmate Zoe who was living in Jerusalem for the summer and as it just so happened, she was available to be with us for one of our shoot days. We so enjoyed having her with us, explaining her culture and helping us understand the Jewish mindset towards foreign tourists. The end of July was the closing of the month of Ramadan, the Muslim fasting season. This posed interesting obstacles for us to overcome, given that the tension in Jerusalem is always residing at a fever pitch. In one memorable moment, we were stuck in a crowd of 10,000 people trying to squeeze through the Lion Gate in the Arab Quarter.

Max enjoyed meeting many different people around Jerusalem. I’m still not sure if this guy agreed to this picture.

With the temperature peaking at over 105 this particular day, the crowds were desperate to get out of the city after noon prayer. Needless to say we made it out unscathed and the video footage is priceless! Filming at the Dead Sea, exploring the ruins of Jericho and navigating the Judean wilderness were experiences we will never forget. I have always wanted to film a series in Israel, and this trip proved to be one of the most fruitful we have had. As our trip concluded, we headed north to the city of Acco which served as our base as we finished shooting in and around the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River. During each recording, we were keenly aware that God was giving us an opportunity to record words of life for a generation that may never get to walk where Jesus walked. Thanks again for helping these recordings go into all the world, communicating the Life of Jesus to all who see them! In Jesus Name:

The empty tomb still sends shivers down my spine. What an honor to share this with my son.

The Israeli Defense Forces were always present in Jerusalem. Ramadan was ending and 500,000 people were daily crowding the city for prayer.

Near the Golan Heights is a waterfall named the Yehuda Falls. Here we had the opportunity to not only shoot our final sequence, but to explain to this park ranger why we wanted to jump off the waterfall with a camera. He was intrigued.

Dear Friends & Family, I hope this finds you doing well. I’m amazed that summer is again upon us. The boys will be out of school in a few weeks and they are already asking “what can we do this summer?” I think that this is the cry of every teen, even my own, looking for purpose and destiny in their lives. It is these cries that continually drive me to communicate God’s truth to as many as I possibly can. Last month we had two great opportunities to do just that. Our home church, The Rock here in Redlands, held their annual Pastors’ Conference and asked us to participate; our friends in the Four Square denomination invited us to be a part of their gathering in Anaheim as well. Both of these strategic events gave us the opportunity to expose not only our resources but the extent of our outreach globally. The response at each event was encouraging and many doors of opportunity were opened to us. As you know, I’m always looking for broadcast opportunities internationally, and without fail God always brings people across my path. Starting next month we will be translating our Youthbyte television program into the Albanian language which will then be aired on local stations in Albania and Kosovo. We will be leaving for Israel in early July for two weeks.

Our goal is to create 4 teaching sessions and a one hour television program. It has been many years since I have been in Israel and I am excited to be able to capture the sights and sounds of this fascinating city. Our APP development project is also proceeding nicely. We are currently formatting the video content and finishing the written devotional content. This 60-week devotional will be unique, providing teens in many different walks of life the ability to access our video material on any smart device. This project is scheduled to launch in the fall of this year. I am also focusing on our “Life Events” for the fall, both locally and internationally. I recently had our “Sea of Trees” video translated into Portuguese and am planning on strategically releasing it in Brazil later this year. This release combined with our local Life Event meetings will bring a much needed voice to the church and Christian communities. Please keep all we do in prayer! We love you in Jesus Name, Chad & Shay Daniel.

Next month I will be traveling with my son Max and our production team to Israel to record a one-hour Youthbyte program. I am believing that God will direct all aspects of this trip. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

We began to actively promote our Life Events this month, locally and internationally. Working in conjunction with already established networks of churches, we are bringing not only awareness to this problem but encouraging much needed dialogue between parents leaders and students.

April 2015

Dear Friends & Family, I hope this finds you doing well. It is end of a very fruitful month. Renewing TV contracts, acquiring new stations, developing new languages, recording podcasts and traveling internationally have caused me to rely on the grace of God like never before. The highlight of the month was, of course, my travels to Nigeria. Out of all the countries in Africa, Nigeria is one that I have never been to and I was a bit apprehensive bringing my youngest son Rhett with me. We began distributing our Youthbtye discipleship tools throughout the nation earlier this year and its reception has been amazing. One of the participating church organizations asked if I would come and be a part of a yearly youth event entitled “Embrace”. This event draws teens from all walks of life, providing a venue to not only proclaim the word of God publicly, but also hear from some of the nations biggest names in Christian music. As with many other African events, the festivities always begin late and always finish later than expected and this event was no different. Scheduled for 12 hours, this Good Friday event proved to be a test in patience and grace. I took the stage at 2:30am, 2 hours later than was initially planned, but this snag actually worked out well as it allowed even more hungry souls to enter the venue.

The event began at 6pm and finished at 6am. I got on the stage at 2:30am and shouted the house down for an hour. The altar response was powerful!

I was honored to be able to speak Easter morning at a local church. I must admit I felt a bit underdressed.

As usual, the spirit of God honored the preaching of His word and began to move over the crowd of teens, which had grown to over 15,000. I was amazed that as the Word of God was read, the crowd of usually boisterous souls quieted to almost a whisper. When I was concluding the message you could feel the tangible presence of God descend on the grounds. As I made an appeal for Christ, hundreds stood and began making their way towards the front of the stage. With hands lifted and voices raised, I was again amazed at God’s grace and how it had again provided a fresh start to all who responded in faith. After a prayer I asked, “Who at the altar and in the crowd felt a call to be in full-time ministry?” Hundreds of hands shot towards the sky in response. The host pastor looked back at me with great surprise and smiled knowing that God was preparing an army of young people to proclaim Jesus as Lord throughout the nation of Nigeria. Thanks for helping us add to the Kingdom of God!

We had a layover on our flight home and I had the honor of showing Rhett around Amsterdam. He was amazed!

February 2015

Dear Friends & Family, Belated Happy Valentine’s Day! February has been a very busy month and we still have more than a week left. The last week of January found me in Cleveland, Tennessee with my friend Perry Stone and the Omega Center International participating in their annual Winter Reformation event. Over 2000 teens filled the auditorium, each anticipating that God was going to speak to them personally. I was requested to bring my large python Twinkie to the event. This made for interesting conversation considering the fact that the original snake handling movement in churches began less than 10 miles from Cleveland. This made for a very entertaining evening. As with any event that the snake is introduced at, the example is easily understood and quickly embraced (no pun intended) As I unpacked the message, you could feel the spirit of God beginning to move on the hearts of all in attendance. The altar call was a powerful time of encouragement and deliverance, with Jesus responding to each heart that softened before Him. The following Saturday morning I flew out of Atlanta to be a part of a missions event in my home town of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Although I have been an official “non-resident” for almost 20 years, I do very much consider myself to be southern at heart. Healing Place Church has been an integral part of my missions adventure since the early 90’s and to be able to partner with them in this weekend event meant the world to me.

As usual, I had the opportunity to bring out my living example “Twinkie” on the Friday night event. As he began to squeeze me you could hear the crowd gasp!

After returning from Baton Rouge I made my way to Sacramento, California to be a part of a youth event that has always been an incredible blesssing to me. Since 2000 ( yes, I had hair the first year) I have been honored to be a guest speaker at “Camp Paradise.” Young people from all walks of life have been a part of these events and I have watched many of them grow up before my eyes. The intimate enviroment gave lots of opportunites for personal one-on-one ministry, something I rarely get to do in much larger events. As He always does, Jesus showed Himself strong in the lives of all in attendance. Next weekend I will be staying home and will be the guest speaker at the San Bernardino Rock Church’s youth event. This is gonna be a blast! Pray for me!

I had the opportunity to go back home to Baton Rouge this month to be participate in HPC’S missions weekend. What an honor to encourage the church to “go into all the world”!

Janaury 2015

Dear Family, Partners and Friends, I hope you had a great holiday season with friends and family. Our Christmas day here in California announced the arrival of the Santa Ana winds. It was a warm, blustery day, not exactly the type of Christmas day some of us are used to, but it was great just the same. In April of last year, we recorded a program on the “Enjoying Everyday Life with Joyce Meyer” program and were thrilled to see it air on the 19th of December. The response was overwhelming and confirmed to me and others on our team that we are exactly where God wants us: positioned to bring life to a generation trapped in hopelessness and despair. Our goal is to continue to host Life Events around the globe during 2015 and beyond. The fruit that has been produced as a result of these endeavors has been remarkable.

Our program with Joyce Meyer on teen suicide aired December 19th. The response we received was incredible. It was obvious that God is wanting to expose this lie and promote the life of Christ to a generation.

At the end of the month I will be with OCI Ministries in Cleveland, Tennessee speaking at their Winter Reformation event. I’m always happy to be with my friends Perry Stone, Mark Casto and the Voice of Evangelism family. Over the past 5 years it has been encouraging to see what God has done, fulfilling Perry’s vision to provide a place of ministry for a generation. I ask that you please keep this event in prayer; I know God is going to speak HIS life into all in attendance.

We will continue to hold “Life Events” around the world during 2015.

As we stepped into 2015, and I am evaluating all that we accomplished in 2014, I am aware that if had not been for you, your prayers, your support and your faith in our outreaches, none of it would have been possible. The book of Romans declares that we must go and preach the Gospel. But how can we go unless we are sent? I want to again say thank you for sending me to a lost generation, being able to share the good news of Jesus. I am fully committed to see 2015 be another incredible year of harvest for the Kingdom of God! Chad & Shay Daniel
